Keynote Speaker I

Prof. Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Information Engineering “Guglielmo Marconi”

Alberto Borghetti (M’97–SM’03–F’15) received the bachelor’s degree (with honors) in electrical engineering from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, in 1992.,Since 1992, he has been working with the power system group of the same university, where he is now a Professor of Electrical Power Systems. His research and teaching activities are in the areas of power system analysis, power system restoration after blackout, electromagnetic transients, generation scheduling, and distribution system operation.,Prof. Borghetti was the recipient of the ICLP (International Conference on Lightning Protection) Scientific Committee Award in 2016 and the CIGRE Technical Council Award for Study Committee C4 “System Technical Performances” in 2018. From 2010 to 2016, he has served as an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, and since 2018, he serves as an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Power Systems. Since 2008, he is an Editorial Board Member of Electric Power Systems Research, and since 2019, he serves as an Editor-in-Chief for Electrical Engineering – Archiv für Elektrotechnik

Keynote Speaker II

Prof. Department of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norway

Dr. Reza Arghandeh is a Professor in “Data Analytics and Machine Learning” in the Department of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Norway since 2018. Prof. Arghandeh is also a senior data scientist at StormGeo company. He is the director of the Collaborative Intelligent Infrastructure Lab (CI2Lab). He has been an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Florida State University, USA, 2015-2018. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Virginia Tech (2013) and spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California-Berkeley. He also holds two masters degrees, one in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech (2013) and the other in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester (2008). He has been a power system software designer at Electrical Distribution Design Inc. in Virginia, USA, 2011-2013. Dr. Arghandeh is the recipient of the IBM Faculty Award in 2018 and the best paper awards from ASME Power 2013 and the IEEE Power & Energy Society 2015. His research is supported by various grants from US DOE, US NSF, EU Horizon 2020, and the European Space Agency. He is editor with IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, Editorial Board, 2019-Present and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Editorial Board, 2019-Present.His research interests include machine learning and artificial intelligence for smart grids and smart cities operation and management. 

Keynote Speaker III

Prof. S. M. Muyeen, Curtin University, Australia

Dr. S. M. Muyeen received his B.Sc. Eng. Degree from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Bangladesh formerly known as Rajshahi Institute of Technology, in 2000 and M. Eng. and Ph.D. Degrees from Kitami Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2005 and 2008, respectively, all in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. At the present, he is working as an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Curtin University, Perth, Australia. His research interests are Renewable Energy, Energy Storage System, Smart Grid, and Power System Stability. He is the author/co-author of about 200 scientific articles including 80+ journals. He has also authored/edited 6 Books as an author/editor in the area of wind energy, electrical machines, and smart grid. He is serving as Editor/Associate Editor for many prestigious Journals from IEEE,  IET, and other publishers, e.g., IEEE Transactions of Sustainable Energy, IEEE Power Engineering Letters, and IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, etc. He is the subject editor for IET Renewable Power Generation and also served as the Guest Editor-in-Chief/Leading Guest Editor/Guest Editor for special issues from IET Generations, Transmissions, and Distribution, Applied Sciences, and International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems. He was the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Petroleum Institute Research/Scholarship Award 2012, which was the only research award for the entire university until 2013. He has received many best paper prizes from IEEE Conferences and also the recipient of IEEE Outstanding WA Engineer Award 2017 jointly from PES and PELS societies. He has secured many national and international research grants and have massive experience in developing research infrastructures for universities and research centers. Dr. Muyeen has given many Keynote and Invited speeches to International Conferences and renowned universities. Dr. Muyeen is the Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAust).
